Psalms 25:8a

How good you are to me! When people turn to you, Yahweh, they discover how easy You are to please – so faithful and true!..

The Passion Translation Bible version (TPT)

Hello there, you who keeps focus on Jesus, the initiator and perfecter of our faith. Greetings to you whose life is hidden in Christ, you who fills your life with God before anything or anyone else. And hey you who is empowered and set free by the Word and not condemned by it.

Sometimes Christianity feels hard, having a relationship with God and letting go of our
old ways seems hard. It’s easy to believe that God is hard to please, His requirements
of us are too hard to follow, and we just can’t do it. I was feeling exactly that way, until I
read this verse; it felt like an age-old myth was debunked instantly. I started to say to
myself, “He is easy to please, and I am able, through the Holy Spirit, to please Him!”

Psalms 25:8b

Joyfully You Teach Them The Proper Path, Even When They Go Astray.

The Passion Translation Bible Version (TPT)

One thing I have had to debunk for myself often is that it may seem like God sets all
these expectations, says, “Here you go! I’ll see you at the finish line!” and then leaves us
with this impossible task to figure it out on our own and only get to see Him if we make
it on the other side; but that is contrary to everything the Word reveals to us. We may
feel that way but here the psalmist says God joyfully teaches us. And it’s not like He
joyfully teaches us then deserts us when we go astray, He is always there where we are,
patient and ready to show us when we turn to Him.

Our part is turning to Him, so we can discover that He is easy to please and He can
show us the right path. You could be wondering, “How do I turn to God?” The first
gesture of turning to God starts here, by asking Him to show you the practical steps
you need to take and the transformation of heart and mind that is necessary for this
turning. Remember he is faithful and no prayer (prayed according to His will) is wasted.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank you for the salvation of my soul.

As I turn to you today through this prayer, may the posture of my heart match the prayer of my lips.

Reveal what it means to turn to You and help me do it.

Turn my hearts and its affections toward you Oh God and may I discover, as Your Word has promised, that You are indeed easy to please.

Reveal what Help me see how true and faithful You are.

Help my thoughts to align to Your Word, replace every thought that is contrary to these verses with the Truth.

Thank You that you that You joyfully teach me, and that You are easy to please.

Thank You that your commands are not at all burdensome.

May I always have a heart that is receptive and keen to hear You. In Jesus Christ’s name, Amen.

Declarations

  1. He is easy to please, and I am able, through the Holy Spirit, to please Him.
  2. God joyfully teaches me the proper path, even when I go astray, and His commands are not burdensome to me.

Blessed to be a blessing, select at least one person you know and pray the same prayer for them.

Nurturing as I being nurtured,

Thank you for joining me and reading, I hope this has spurred you to explore the Scripture cited in this post further and grow in your knowledge of God.

If I had only one chance to speak to you, or if these were the last words I ever got to speak about life I would say, “Growth is a gradual process and I admonish you to be content with progressive knowledge and revelation; Tell yourself “I’ll never be offended by the Bible.” And then when you encounter the ‘uncomfortable’ parts of the Bible remind yourself of your commitment and soldier on; as your knowledge of the extravagant love of Christ for you increases more will start to make sense and on the other side of your choice is God responding to your open heart.”
