TMI?
Details, details!
Have you ever been in a conversation with someone, said something and then gotten “TMI” (too much information) as a response? It’s a cringeworthy moment for you both; you probably feel genuinely embarrassed for apparently oversharing.
Or maybe you’ve been on the giving end of TMI. You genuinely didn’t want to know that much, you felt like these are things someone ought to keep to themselves or tell someone they have a deeper relationship with. Moments like these remind us and make us accustomed to a need to filter ourselves according to who we are talking to.

Because of this, different people in our lives know different versions of us, and no one ever really knows another person fully. Everyone needs that one confidant that they can bare all to. I always find it fascinating when movie scenes portray someone talking to a therapist and still holding back the details. So, even the therapist isn’t the ‘bare-all’ person? Then who is? Because here’s the thing, whatever feedback you receive (advice, dialogue, or any other conversational input) from a filtered conversation might end up really not being useful to you when you factor in the details you held back.

Amazingly, God is an exact opposite of us in this matter. God is a “person” of details. Intricate details. But because of how we’ve been programmed down here, we tend to pray filtered prayers. We leave out titbits, chunks, and sometimes, even the whole story.
The encounter that Job has with God in Job 38 is really interesting in what it gives us a peak at. While Genesis gives us an overview of creation, the book Job really shows us the ‘down-to-the-detail’ nature of God.
Here’s a snippet:
Job 38:19–20,
“Have you given the horse its strength or clothed its neck with a flowing mane? Did you give it the ability to leap like a locust? Its majestic snorting is terrifying!”
Matthew 10:30–31: So don’t worry. For your Father cares deeply about even the smallest detail of your life (TPT) …He pays even greater attention to you, down to the last detail — even numbering the hairs on your head! (MSG)
Philippians 4:6: … Tell him every detail of your life. (TPT)
God, I trust You
For some time now, "God, I trust You" has been the theme of the season and on the back of this is an invitation to lose the filters and bare all to Him. To trust Him with the most vulnerable parts of us. He loves You, will you let Him in?
He pays even greater attention to you, down to the last detail — even numbering the hairs on your head!
